How We Got Here: The Majors Tournament

The 2015 season drew to a quick end when I discovered that PES2016 rosters could not only be edited, but could be edited in excel. This lead to a quick end to Season 2 of the 2015 Prime League, with Houghton Club defeating Poos AFC in the League Playoff Final.

The Prime League (PES2014) kicked off with 16 teams for Season 1 and 32 Major League teams (previously imagined, but vying in a simulated format) for promotion.
Season 2 saw a move to PES2015 and the fruition of the league, from 16 Prime Teams to 20. However, The remaining 28 teams would not fit into a single 24 team league, spreading to a second 20-team league where the remaining 16 teams were turned into the Minor League. Season 2 was to feature a full season for the Prime League, while the Minor League would play intermittent with the first third of the season and each division's champion would continue playing as a division's 8th Major Team.
Only the Minor League teams had been edited, with the Major Leaguers left to go when it was discovered that PES2016 could utilize Excel.
Season 2 was cut short to bring a Season 3 to life in a new program. With the Minor Leagues done and the Winning team was automatically promoted to the Major League, as well as the completed Prime League with a relegated team,, the Major League was left with nine teams.
The Majors Tournament was setup to determine which teams would remain in the 24 team Major League and which teams would be relegated to the expanded 20 team Minor League. Given that the Minor League Champions had played and earned their position in the Majors, the tournament was boiled to the seven Major teams and the Prime League Relegates (who were given an opportunity to return to the Prime League at the risk of possible double demotion that season).
Teams would play a minimum of two games against opponents with similar records for game 2. If they lost both games, the team would be relegated to the Minor League. If they won two games they would play in a third game for the chance to be promoted to the Prime League.

In the end, the following is the result of the Tournament:
Won Promotion (Prime League)
NE: Kings of Football
NW: Archemedia
SE: Barbers Union
SW: Valeria Club

Minor League Champ (Major League)
NE: Lake City Football
NW: Appleton
SE: Botchil City**
SW: Coastal Club Football

Relegated (Minor League)
NE: Football Quake, Green County Football**
NW: Apple Valley, Roseley FC
SE: Purgatory Zachriel SC, Keven FC
SW: FC Bombay, Treason Football

** - See Below

The final order of business came with the bankruptcy of Botchil City, who's team and status was bought out by a collective that formed Building North, which takes residence high in the Northeast Division. To adjust, a team from the Northeast was moved to the Southeast. This was Green County Football, who agreed if given the opportunity to play in the Major League. This motion was challenged by Purgatory Zachriel and Keven FC, and the rest was put to a one time round robin between the three teams. Green County Football won the two affairs and was promoted to the SE Major League. As Building North was a new team, they took residence in the NE Minor League.

Current League List

I've been continuing the league in PES 2016 and made quite significant progress in getting the league laid out despite some difficulty dealing with the EDIT file's encryption.

There was also a "Majors Tournament" designed to simulate promotion/relegation of the leagues for an unplayed/unsimulated post-2015 season (with an effect of dropping two Prime League teams into the Minor).

Again, this is nothing more than a list of all 64 teams present in the league.

Season One Inauguration Game Preview

So the first game of the year is the Season Inauguration Game, a game between the Prime League Champion and the League Cup Winner. Tonight I thought I would give a preview before the opening game. This year is contended by the Previous Year PLC Knights of Duria, facing LCW Northern Way. Since both teams participated in last years League, both teams have developed players.

Knights of Duria (Currently Prime League - Southeast Division)
Titles: PL Champion (Last Pre-blog Season)
Colors: Dark Gray, Red, and Black
Major Rivals: Wyfume ASC (South Metro Derby), Tidal Port Football, Botchil City
Quick Team Synopsis: Duria's local founding goes back to a more medieval time. The City was founded as an outpost for knights heading from East to the West. Moving into a more modern era, the town became a city, and the soccer team was formed from it.
Last Season Performance: Duria entered the Prime League Playoffs after a massive win over rival Wyfume, entering the competition as a 7th seed wildcard. They beat both NE Champion Poos AFC and SW Champion Club Explosion on the road, before hosting the Championship final against division rival Allenstown and winning 2-0 off goals from Vaughtn and Majors.

Northern Way (Currently Prime League - Northwest Division)
Titles: LC Winner (Last Pre-blog Season), NW Division Title (Last Pre-blog Season)
Colors: Light Blue, White, Green, and Black
Major Rivals: Numierro Soccer (Northern Conquest), AFC Dullord, Lewes Peculiar F.C.
Quick Team Synopsis: The older folk of the Northern Way area are descendants of a socialist commune by the same name that headed north during the early settlement days, but collapsed during the first winter due to infighting. The team's founders were among those that survived the first winter, ironically away from the commune that froze to death.
Last Season Performance: Northern Way finished the season clinching a position in the Northwest Division Final by beating rival Numierro into the relegation game, and won the Division over Lewes Peculiar F.C. However the team lost the league quarterfinal match to Allenstown. In the League Cup it was another matter, as the Northern Way stormed off Club Explosion and rival AFC Dullord before hoisting the Cup over Lilyhammer with an Extra Time Goal.

The Inauguration Game will occur later this week. Stay Tuned for a Game Synopsis.

Ratings and Player Growth Opportunities

Here's how I am generating every team, their players, and how teams will grow through the season:
-Each team will maintain a roster of 23 players. Additional players will be removed from the team based on an abundance of position.

-Players are given Names generated with a random name generator, but will maintain the physical build of the player used as the base. No players have traits at the start of the first season.

Each Team will begin with players at the same rating, all according to the league the team begins in:
-New Minor League Teams begin with stats at 46
-New Major League Teams begin with stats at 48
-New Prime League Teams begin with stats at 50
-All Teams that participated in Last Year's Prime League will retain their player's rankings

All Teams are given the same number of Player Growth Opportunities:
Player Growth Opportunities are given after the following weeks:
-Friendlies Week 1&2
-Minor League Week 3 (2 if bye)
-Major League Week 4
-Prime League Week 7
-League Cup Home Legs of Rounds 1 and 2

Player Growth Opportunities work in the following manner:
Positive PGOs
-All players that participate in a match receive a +1 to every stat.
-Players that score an 8.0 or higher receive a random trait.
-Players that score a rating of 7.0 or higher receive +1 to every stat.
-Players that score a 6.5 receive +1 to 10 random stats (which could be duplicated)

Negative PGOs
-Players that score a 4.5 or less lose a trait
-Players that score a 4.0 or less lose 1 to each stat (If possible)
